History

060 EA 498

This is a repaint of the class 477 EA 498, built-in 1981 at Electroputere Craiova Romania. The locomotive belongs to Brasov depot, also the depot with the largest park in Romania.
In 2009, Brasov depot sent 11 locomotives to Softronic Craiova in order to supply them with the new ICOL TSAM system. The old EA 40-0498-2 gets now a completely new look and driving system and also the European UIC numerating,
becoming EA 477-498. This used and rugged paint scheme represents today’s look of the locomotive, serving “CFR Calatori” passenger trains for more than 11 years from the last capital repair( RK)

060 EA 054

This is a repaint of the original EA 477-054-8. The locomotive belongs to Brasov Depot and is one of the most recent modernized versions of the 060 EA originals. Modernized in the year 2007, this locomotive is used by “CFR Calatori” to passenger service with over 6 million kilometers since 2007. This locomotive has been carefully cared for by a team of 4 train drivers. They also bought this metallic emblem where it’s written “Brasov Depot”. This used and rugged paint scheme represents today’s look of the locomotive that is one of the most known and appreciated “Brasov’s” loco.

060 EA 231

This is a repaint of the original Class 477 EA 231 that belongs to the national railway company “CFR Calatori”. In 2009 when it has also been modernized at “Softronic Craiova Romania”,
they delivered it to Brasov depot where it served passenger trains for 10 years. Because EA 231 was fitted with the Hungarian INDUSI Safety system, the officials from Bucharest decided that this locomotive (and two other class 477) would be more useful in Arad depot park where it could serve the high-speed International “Dacia” train in Romania and Hungary. So, actually, EA231 is in Arad depot park and it’s often seen at the “Dacia” and “Ister” trains. This used and authentic look of the locomotive represents its look during 2019.

060 EA1 030

This repaint represents the original EA1 030 that was assembled at Electroputere Craiova in 1969 during the communist time in Romania.
All the components have been imported from ASEA Sweeden, except the “case”-that huge metal piece that can be seen from quite a long distance. EA1 030 with a maximum speed of 140 km/h is the 30-th 060 EA ever built. In 2007 it has been modernized with ICOL CSAM system. This locomotive has been cared by a team of 4 train drivers for 8 years. This used and rugged look represents the actual aspect of the locomotive.

060 EA 695

This is a repaint of the class 40 EA 695, built-in 1984 at Electroputere Craiova Romania with ASEA Sweeden license. The locomotive belongs to Arad Depot and it is actually used in passenger service by the national railway company “CFR Calatori”. In 2006 it has been modernized with ICOL CSAM system. EA 595 is one of the best cared for locomotives and it also has Arad depot’s badge on the front part. Railway enthusiasts call this color scheme “Coca Cola” because of the two main colors red and white. This used and authentic look of the locomotive represents its aspect during 2019.
